My degree was in Commercial and Electronic Music with a concentration in the Recording Arts and I also got a minor in Digital Communications Engineering Technology. All those big words basically mean I love music and technology. I got started recording my sophomore year in high school where my band director really got me interested in it. I kept bugging him to teach me more over the next couple of years and at the same time I started accumulating my own equipment and began recording some friends.

Throughout my college years I tried to get involved with whatever recording sessions were going on and I held engineering positions with a few university ensembles that gave me some very good experience in mixing live sound. I worked for 3 years as the Sound Engineer with the Catamount Chamber Singers, which was a 12 musician and 12 vocalist ensemble. I also worked for two years as the Electronics Coordinator for the Western Carolina University's Pride of the Mountains Marching Band. This 300+ member group is known for their use of on-field electronics and my two years with them definitely heightened my on-the-fly decision making and problem-solving skills. I also mixed the live sound for the university's Jazz Ensemble whenever they had a home performance and I also went on two recruitment tours with them to various high schools across North Carolina.

Also during my time at WCU, I interned at the Recording Studio in the Center for Applied Technology, where I did numerous, various tasks. My duties ranged from making specialized cables and running them throughout the building, to setting up for and even engineering some recording sessions for various groups. I also helped to update existing software and hardware as well as installing new software and hardware. I gained an immense amount of knowledge while there for two semesters on high-end microphones and other recording hardware, such as the Solid State Logic C-200 digital console. I also gained valuable experience in mixing in 5.1 surround sound. My time there was well worth it and everything I learned has helped me and will continue to help me throughout my career.

In November of my final year in college, I landed a student job as the audio/video developer for the Institute for the Economy and the Future which was on campus. There I worked at composing the music and editing the video for various projects, in particular I worked on "Globalization" which can be seen on the Know Your Region website. Upon graduation the following May, I was offered to stay full-time to work as the Media Technical Specialist for the Know Your Region project. Since, I have furthered developed my skills as a composer as well as learning 3-D animations using After Effects and Motion 3, while continuing to establish myself in audio and video post-production. I now have experience in producing live video recordings for a variety of institute, university and federal projects. Most of my work can be viewed and heard on the Know Your Region project website as well as on the Institute for the Economy and the Future website. I have created various podcasts, trailers, animations and other learning modules, for both entities. The second trailer I have worked on, "Regionalism", was recently completed in December and is underscored by my original composition. I also finished all of the final audio editing as well as collaborated with my colleague to finish editing the final project as a whole. I have enjoyed my work here at the Institute for the Economy and the Future very much and it has provided me with numerous opportunities to further my skills as well as learn and develop new ones. I do want to mention that God is most important in my life and that I wouldn't be who I am without Him. I would like to encourage everyone reading this to really explore His Word and experience life through Jesus. I owe everything to Him. "For of him, and through him, and unto him, are all things. To him be the glory for ever. Amen" (Romans 11:36). Thanks for reading and checking out my site. Looking forward to hearing from you. Take care.

Praise God aye?
